A few Large Planes

In 2005, shortly after arriving in theater while deployed to the Balkans as part of a year long tour there for the Army, I figured out I would have periods of downtime on my hands. I decided to fill that by building kits, and since the coffee shop near the flightline had a collection of planes hanging from the ceiling, I decided to concentrate on 1/32 scale aircraft. I mainy built older Revell kits (but with a few exceptions) that I had built as a kid, but now wanted to try my hand on as a more experienced modeler, and with the limited supplies I had over there. (There was no model club and MWR had no stuff of that sort seeing as how the main US mission was in SW Asia). I was able to get some kits from Squadron and Great Models (the only websites I could find whose format supported a military APO address) and of course Ebay. For supplies, my wife went to a LHS with a list of items I would email her, then sent them in care packages to me. So without furhter babbling.... :piliot:

You've got some real nice work there. I like the finish on the MiG21 specifically.

Thanks for sharing them with us. How often do you dust them down? :P

Thank you James and Harv! I cant dust them... they are still there... :)

I keep going backwards and forwards over the photos trying to decide which one I like the best.

But it's no use (maybe the MiG 21)

So, you're saying you had to leave these Behind?

I couldn't imagine abandoning my babies.

Yes it was kind of hard to leave them all behind, but they served their main purpose of pleasurably passing the time. and now how often does one of us get to leave our work on display in another country let alone continent for others to see. I have been happy to get a kit displayed at a local shop! :speak_cool: But I will have to say the Hunter was the one that I really hated to leave. It was just such a gem of a kit. The Skyhawk was a close second.
