I was allowed to publish them on our forum and thought I should also show some of them here too, if the admins don´t bother. We got more than a dozen pictures and I will post some of them here. All of them may be seen here: http://spamodeler.proboards.com/post/13412 The pictures we got are rather large (!) so I reduced them to a more suitable size to show them. I had the pleasure to have more than one very close looks at this prototype while attending Zoukei-mura´s booth at the Nuremberg Toy Fair. I recommended using this when I spoke to the owner in 2012 at Telford, although at the time he didn't seem that enthused? Shame to hide all that fantastic detail when you could have another option available. According to the ZM development blog , they indicate the clear skin is not a sure thing. It is a concept being floated to the community and they are asking for comments. If you like it, like we do, then I encourage everyone who does to go to the ZM web site and send them an Email and tell them so. Their Blog indicates if they get enough support it may be offered as an option. I quote the blog from under the clear skin picture below: â– This is the front view of Horten. Plenty of people think ZM kits are over-engineered. Plenty of people don't and think they are wonderful. Both are correct - comments on a kit shouldn't be taken so personally. However, nobody else put their money to work and cut metal to make molds after a lot of research to try to get it as "right" as they could in our favorite scale. If we were only buying the shell, you might think you could get a deal, since they only injected 1/4 the plastic sprues. Unfortunately, they already cut the mold, did the research, prepared the test runs, and we have to pay for all that.... or we get to pay for that, and we get the chance to build several of them should we be so inclined. The plastic for your kit cost them a few pennies, but the research and tooling cost them tens to hundreds of thousands (of whatever currency you choose). For me, I am just glad to see a Horten (Horton?, if I paint it pink and add some Who's). I really do want to do one in Swedish splinter colors, but once I saw the inside details, I realized that it would be one of my favorites in the uncovered state. Tnarg Why does everything have to be cheap and simple and easy??? I agree with you, it is nice to see a company with passion that caters to the detail freaks of the hobby, and puts up the money to make it happen. I think many people complain about the ZM kits because they are just to complicated to build for the average modeler, and that builder really needs to be honest with themselves instead of finding fault with the kits and the money they have spent.
