i will try various products and see what suits me best. thanx for all the help.

that being said, i managed to drop the whole fuselage assembly with it thereafter desintegrating into all parts :BANGHEAD2:

i wasnt able to look at the thing for a week, but now put everything together again:

the intake has some broken off pieces missing, i will try to reconstruct these next

the bottom has a gap at the front, but nothing serious

Great work Karl!   I know what its like to have one of *THOSE* moments. Occasionally Ive "put my foot down" (directly ON the model I dropped) and sometimes,  restraint got the better of me, and I did what you did and thats picked up the pieces and eventually put them back together.

Good recovery...............carry on!

thanx for the encouragement, Brian!

slowly putting the parts together i tried some microbaloons on the bis gaps and now some perfect plastic putty (both firsts) to smooth the joints. we will se how that works out. fuselage has some primer.

Love this litttle bird Karl. I saw one of these in person once at the Chinese Aviation museum outside of Beijing. I've always liked the lines on this little fighter. Thanks for the progress report and keep the awesome momentum going.

Thanks for sharing.

thanx guys, i really appreciate your comments.

i have finished the cockpit and opted to keep the canopy closed. i glued it on with gator glue (really nice stuff that also fills imperfections)

then shot some primer after rescribing some of the lost detail

still some imperfections, but i´m getting there

Great comeback and fix. I've been there more then a few times and know the feeling all to well.

The Yak looks great all buttoned up and wearing primer.

Keep ' em coming

Looks promising :goodjob:

Some minor imperfections to fix (seam in the wheel well, exhaust belly) and you are ready to finish the paint Job.

Had the wings and the wing roots (same goes for Elevators) the same thickness? A common problem with resin kits, so I am curious.

Regards
