Hi Kevin.

I picked up Mr Surfacer 1000 but the LHS does not stock the thinner,is there an alternative?

Tamiya's lacquer thinner, in the bottle with the yellow cap, is pretty much the same stuff I believe, and may be easier for you to find.

If you get some, try it on a small, out of the way place first, just to make sure it has no adverse affect on the bare plastic.

Thank's Kev,I have picked up Tamiya lacquer thinner and have done a test patch and seams to work.
