Hello everyone,

the P-40 "Longtrack"-radar of the Soviet Union in scale 1:35.

This is a conversion kit of the Czech company Panzershop, consisting of resin- and 3 large frets full of huge photo etched parts.

The base kit is the AT-T Artillery tractor of Trumpeter. Further details coming from Friul (metal tracks), Voyager (etched parts), MiniArt (new engine kit) and the engine cooler is a separat kit of Panzershop.

First I have modified the hull, which is consisting of the trumpeter part, cut and extended with panzershop's resin parts. Added further details...

Also mounted the engine cooler ... a small kit itself :)

Hello,

Some progress here ....

I have replaced the engine with the much better one of MiniArt ... the transmission is trumpeter, the engine MiniArt, the cooler Panzershop.

Some painting at the interior of the engine compartment.

New dashboard, further details at the cab inside and outside ....

First details around the engine hood ....

Hi everybody,

some more details at the cab and at the front ....

And some first works at the super strucutre. Drilled open the two round windows and added clear plastic foil as glass.

Also added the handles made of copper wire.

Hello everybody,

and one more update. Most of the parts on the super structure are installed now.

The radar antenna on the driver side / front is made new with brass tubes from Albion Alloys as the kit offers no extracted version.

The engine hood is made of etched parts from Voyager and is fully foldable. The tracks are Friul Metal tracks, also ready for painting.

The huge antenna and the jib are both made of many, many small, smallest and huge etched parts which were all soldered. A brass tube is installed in the base to keep the radar turnable.

Some cables, wiring etc. will follow at the antenna, as well as some further small stuff at the car itself ...

Impressive sized beast!

I think the Trumpeter styrene base kit makes building this now a lot easier than the previous full resin kit. But you still must be able to solder or you will never get a nice result with the PE antenna. Well done!

Whoa, Micha!  This is fantaboulous!

What did you use to shape this curve?  Nice delicate soldering going on here.

I hope the driver doesn't have engine trouble.  Moving all of that gear first to then fix the problem.  OOF!

Great show, Micha.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Mark

Hi Mark,

thanks a lot!

The radar was not that difficult to be honest ..... I have used some blue tac to fix one horizontal part on the huge radar and soldert it to it .... then removed the blue tax and mounted the next one .... one after the other and the shape of the radar came alone .... :)

Cheers

Michael
