LSP_Matt
OK. Hi all. I contracted via electrons a serious case of Blackbettyitis from Karl...an inflammatory condition that has you hacking at every bit of plastic in the original Revell MiG29 kit and tweaking it. So far Oh...I traced a scaled template of the scratchbuilt sidewalls to make it easier if anyone wants to do similar. Cheers Matty
LSP_Matt
A fair bit of an experiment this one. I have yet to solder the HUD together. Seat is from the Trumpeter kit...with some add ons for the legs Started on the main landing gear bay. The kit one is pretty basic. Failed to find a way of suitably embossing the panels so went for raised detail instead. Would appreciate any ideas for uniformly embossing a styrene surface though. Thoughts? bdthoresen
Matty, you are a brave soul, mate. The Revell kit is not for the faint of heart! I like the look of the kit cockpit so far, nice work there! I built this kit many moons ago when I was a teen, and loved the look of the 29. I would like to build another sometime, but, have too many builds in line at the moment. Please keep the updates coming....I like this build so far! THOR, no Mig29 afficianado.......... LSP_Matt
Thanks Thor...yes the MiG29 has great lines. It has some OK features this kit but as you can se from Karls build its lacking in a lot of areas as well. Karl...yes its all your fault. Thanks for the inspiration and good luck with the lines on the rudders. I feel your pain. Hang in there. Sorry bout the temp loss of pics. I housecleaned my P/bucket account and created consistently labelled directories where everything is neat and tidy. Too OCD? Latest pics Burner can mods with some stock styrene. I'm going to try and re-paint them like Brians burner cans in his Su30 build...phew they were sweet Modification of Nose Wheel Landing Bay
blackbetty
very cool front wheelbay matt it dawns on me that i have no provision for the front gearleg to attach to.....
LSP_Matt
Latest Cut out the gun post and scratchbuilt it...glued a barrel in the fuselage. Tried the wing fit and felt it might not be strong enough and that I wanted more control over position. Place a brass rod locator to help...we'll see if this works later on eh? LSP_Matt
Cockpit installed...as close ups show I was again (*sigh*) too heavy handed on the wash. Can be ammnended though. Side walls were a lot of fun to make and a big improvement. So much jumping in the deep end here. Feeling like I want to get this one over with so I can do better on the next one. PhilB
Well you are not hanging about eh Matty! Got to keep a close eye on this build or it will be over before you know it! Great work so far, I agree you are demonstrating considerable fortitude in tackling this jobby! Phil
