Airfix 1/24 Spitfire

Recommended Posts

The goal is to convert the venerable Airfix MkI into a Canadian Mk IX, squadron and exact sub-variant as yet undetermined. I can only devote a couple of evenings a week to the project, and because I´m trying to experiment with techniques that are completely new to me (vac-forming, photo-etching, soldering), progress is very slow. However, it´s great fun and I´m learning a lot as I go. So here goes for my first LSP post...

yeah JCote, looks fantastic! I'm building this kit at the moment too, but only as a Mk 1. I take my hat off to you for undertaking such an exciting but difficult project, and I'll also be watching with interest.

Great stuff mate, you've made a blistering good start.

Cheers,

Ango.

Welcome to LSP. Your Spitfire looks superb...I can see the amount of time and effort it must have taken to achieve this level of detail thus far. Well done, keep up the very good work...I'm sure that both I and other LSP members shall have a lot to learn from you.

Best regards

Derek

This is stunning J.

I'll definitely be watching this build very carefully and probably bugging you with questions, as I want to convert one of my Airfix 1/24th Spits into a PRXI.

Awesome work, J, I especially like the frameworks; they bring it to life and add a lot of detail. She'll be sweeeeet.

Welcome to the best forums around, and thanks for sharing.
