I usually just insert a piece of scrap plastic card in gaps like that and fill with CA, usually works a treat, the PCM and SH short run kits do tend to have character building fit issues but it is normally worth dealing with them for the range of subjects that you can get from them. If I remember correctly the Spitfire IX from PCM was the first IM kit of the IX and was much anticipated at the time of it's release.

Cheers

Dennis

Hi Sci-fi,
I had the same issue on my PCM MkXIV, used a lot of putty to fill the gap. it did not turn out perfect but goog enough, definitely the low point of my build too. Keep it up, once I paint and decals my model I tend to forget about these little blemishes and all I see is a perfectly good looking model:)

My sentiments exactly!

And we'll done SciFi for persevering with a challenging build. If it's any consolation I can never seem to get things to fit either..

Thanks, gang. I hope you have better luck with the Hurricane, Max, and thanks for letting me know it's not me, Dukie. Thanks Dennis, and Shogzz, my plan is to fill as best I can with card and then Liquid Plastic putty, forget the brand name. I never even have luck filling seams with ca.

Hey Gang,

Gaps filled with my favorite, cheap card - Garage Sale Signs.  I can get the big ones at Wally World for about $2.50 each.

Now to trim it down, sand, fill and then spray Testor's chrome silver to test the seams.

Brave stuff SciFi58. Have you battered this bird into submission?

You're a better modeller than I.

If it does n't just fall together out of the box I lose interest quickly.

Looking forward to seeing how your work with the gaps turned out.

Cheers.
