dmthamade
I like how simple the chipping is. I don't know how this works with enamels, etc as i've only used it with Tamiya acrylics, so experiment 1st. Don
mikeblack
Excellent work, Don! I especially like the chipping
mozart
You finished before I started Don! Great build and a very realistic professional finish, well done. Your chipping technique is like applying Maskol, that's rubber based too and works effectively with, as you mentioned, lots of control about where and how heavily to apply it. Maskol's advantage is that it's a rather lurid pink so you can definitely see where you've put it! Max
dmthamade
Never tried the Maskol, did see it in the hobby shops. It being pink would really help. On this build i decanted some glue into a bottle and mixed some Tamiya black in, making it clearly visible. I did google "rubber cement mask" and it seems water color artists, armour and railroad hobbiest use it. Once again everyone EXPERIMENT with your favorite brand and base of paint BEFORE committing to your build!! I found Tamiya acrylic works ok, but Model Master Acryl was a bear to remove. Max, i might try the Maskol, if it is more consistent i may switch over. Thanks!! Don
