This will be a Hawk T1, which in my opinion ranks alongside the Avro 504, Tiger Moth, Chipmunk, T-6 and Stearman as one of the all-time classic training types. As well as being my tribute to Captain Eric Brown, I'll be paying my respects to his profession and all who follow it, by doing one of the three Hawks used by the Empire Test Pilots School. I do happen to like the "Raspberry Ripple" scheme as well, so it's a win all round.
Or almost: ideally I'd have used the "standard" Revell 1:32 Hawk, but the kit I have is the Red Arrows boxing, and so has bright red plastic. Well it was cheap! So it's going to be an exercise in painting as much as anything. Until I get the primer on, I suggest sunglasses when viewing.
I'll post the sprue shots later when Photobucket decides to co-operate.
