Hasegawa Ki-43 Oscar.

Hey guys.

Here's a model I began while waiting for things to dry on my Tony. Hubert inspired me to check out the Oscar. I discovered a had a full Eduard PE set so thought this would be a good example on which to practice PE, to see if my fingers could manage it.

I am portraying a post war Indonesian example, so I lightened the aotake blue as if it had faded. Also with the cockpit being so tiny I figured the lighter the better. I still have to fit the IP. I was confused by the instruction sheet by Eduard but now realise it glues to the upper section of the fuselage.

In between working on the Tony I will assemble the IP.

I also made the engine more colourful than accurate because having built several 1/48 Oscars I know one can hardly see it.

I am following Hubert's example and not re-scribing. I want to see how it looks. The only problem is sanding around the raised detail.

[EDIT] After PB's purge, here are some older pc's with some of where this model is up to now.]

The little box above was 5 PE parts and was a challenge but my fingers did it! :)

The box near the floor I decided to switch out the PE handles for pieces of stretched sprue.

Another PE box. Great to have Airscale decals handy. :)

Cool. I'll check in later.

Cheers mate. :)

Dale..you're getting very good with the cockpits! I like your interpretation of Aotake -- it looks just right.

Thanks mate.

Quiet a stunning result you achieved! I really like your take on the Oscar. Imho the raised detail looks good/realistic.

Your doing a great job on this old lady!

I'm always confused regarding the cockpit colours on the Perigine Falcons... though the Aotake looks really good!
