Hi Guys, will the Aires Resin Gun bay for the 1/32 FW 190F-8 fit the FW 190A-8? Revell

Should do no problem. The A8 is the same kit as the F8 bar a couple of extra/swapped pieces. You could build an A from the F boxing no problem.

Thanks, I have the A, but all the after market is mostly for the F version.

As far as I know the F-8 is identical to the A-8 minus the outer wing MG151s (plus different radios and things).

Not with what's in the box you can't.  The F-8 kit has the wing minus the outboard cannons.  Unless you found an A-8/A-9 without them, you can't do one directly from the box contents.  Or you could get the A night fighter and leave off the dangly bits.

This is the one I have. I want to use the resin gun bay above in the A8 fighter version. That is my question, Can the F8 gun bay be used in the A8?

Yes.  The inboard guns are identical on the real A-8 and F-8.

Yes, cowl and wing root guns are identical on the A-8 and F-8.

Do you mean these bulges on the outer section?

These are in the F kit but greyed out? This build is the F version. I just drilled the holes and add the pieces? Sorry if I confused the matter?

The bulges are on the lower wing surface...

Not the topside outer bulges/covers (which were also found on some F-8s, even though they didn't have the outer cannons).

The one-piece lower wing part in the Revell kits is different between the F-8 and A-8 boxings. The F-8 kit has flat covers over the outer cannon bay, the A-8 kit has the required bulge and ejector chutes molded into it.

The F-8 part:

And, the A-8 kit part:

Thus, it is not possible to build a proper A-8 from the F-8 kit.

HTH,

D

The Aires F-8 gun bays are really nice but a complete PITA to get fitted but really, really cool when fitted and painted.
