Looking great as always Harv. In fact, I've PM'ed Harold about the conversion set and am going to add one to the stash.

For the UV glue, I've got one from Bondic that works really well. They've got some videos posted too on how best to use them.

One thing about Harold's set, use the kit bomb racks and good luck. Hope you get started soon.... Harv

I'm not including the bomb racks. If I had some good measurements and photos of the real thing, maybe I could cobble up a master. But, the kit racks look usable anyway.

Little worried of the outer rim. Not exactly round and uniform. Maybe small enough not to matter, I don't know........Harv

If you drop the resin wheel in a HOT cup of water, let it soak for a couple of minutes (carefully) remove it and squeeze it just bit to make it round. If you should have a small gap remaining all the way around, get some commercial acrylic floor polish (NOT Future), dip a toothpick into a small amount, touch it to the edge of the hub and it will wick and self level, do it several times after it dries in each application. (it can act as a glue for the hubs) The stuff is found in commercial restaurant suppliers, I bound a half gallon for $12 6 years ago and I still have enough left the rest of my lifetime and all of the other LSPers as well.

Here is a pic I posted earlier. The cap when removed, shows the applicating tip. Its small and has great control. You squeeze the pen to get it through the tip, the glue is jelly like. After applying and placing part, you use the UV end and press to turn on. Shine it on the glue and this cure's it in just a few seconds. There about $5. you can find them at Wallymart in the "seen on TV" section. I highly recommend you try it......Harv

Hell yes! I recently discovered this gem, it's a fantastic way to adhere clear parts. The best thing is, if you screw up placement, you simply pry the part off and remove the cured "goop" without marring the clear plastic of the kit part.

Another use I found is for instrument faces. Unlike Future floor wax, which has a tendency to fill all the recesses of an instrument face, the consistency of this stuff lends itself to producing a flat, level finish, not unlike the flat panes glass of aircraft instruments. Just apply a judicious amount of clear epoxy, zap it with infrared light for about 30 seconds, and whammy, you have a scale representation of a real instrument.

Hope this helps!

Semper,

Ski

I've started using it for landing lights and instrument panels/HUD lenses. Works surprisingly well, can't believe it took this long to come up with such a great solution
