Hi Peter,

Not sure but what about a Ryan STA? All shiney and chrome like. Classic lines. Vintage and awesome.

Peter, your work is Exceptional; & you have gotten a mind that can,and does intricate and complicated construction using your hands.
SO whichever you mind rules it will come out just as extraordinary as your Spitfire or even that STUNNING FURY which I saw at Telford a while back.

Good luck and hope to bump into you both at Telford!

Ok, so here is my 2 cents worth, something really different, and I know, you guys won't agree, but what about that 1/24 scale deHavilland Beaver float plane kit, and do it as an NMF , or even the Float plane prototype? There is a mountain of detailing that could be done there.... similar to the Spitfire, which as I mentioned in the RFI section should reside here in Canada at the National Aviation Museum.... the Beaver would be a very cool departure from the military routine...... just something very different......  so I have popped my 2 cents, so I will now sit back and enjoy the Firefly build. And it will be as spectacular as the Spitfire...... so I'm now sitting in the front row, waiting for the show to start....

Peter

Everyone does 51D's, but no one does a B, and you have access to the NAA drawings...

I second this, especially since HpH makes an awesome Merlin in 1/18 scale already, so you can do an open engine compartment this time for a late model P-51B.

My second choice is the P-40.  The others?    Meh......

Cheers,

Chuck

I we are talking about P-51ish, polished aluminium, and to stay in the spirit of the Spitfire, why not something like WORLD Jet / Precious Metal ?

Two comments from me:

I love the Firefly, so would be pleased to see that taking shape.

David Glen (whose work is in a similar league to yours Peter) followed up his Spitfire with a P-51D, so that precedent is set..

Well, the Spitfire was a race aircraft, how about a Reno racer, say Precious Metal? Little outside of the normal here, but there are some nice looking race planes. Don't know how many are NMF...

Don

Well, there are P-51s and there are Mustangs...

Yes and no for me,   It's more of a hot rod P-51, not much different to what we do to classic cars, just 100 fold more expensive
