Vernon is a graduate of the Wan King School of Dim-Sum in To Kwa Wan, Hong Kong.
Able to get drunk in over 15 different languages he has bedded many of the worlds most attractive women in his dreams.
Currently devoting his efforts to saving the common house-pencil from extinction, he has been involved in many confrontations with stationery shop owners.
When asked how they rated his contribution to ecology, Greenpeace's representative in Singapore commented:
    "Who?"
Still only 24, Vernon hopes to meet the man of his dreams and have a warm loving family one day, but in the meantime, hopes that his 38-24-28 figure will help bring about world-peace.

  1. Do you realise how much credibility shopping like this loses you with your missus? I need some stuff for the model love, Windex and Future... Floor polish and window wipe, Aircraft Modelling the manliest of activities!! Thanks for the help boys!
  2. Before I load up my airbrush, how do you clean the airbrush after using Future? I know it's a silly question, but it doesn't say on the bottle and the modeling fairy god-mother and both the elves seem to be on hols.
  3. Chris, The Airfix multipose sets have all be re-released and are available from Hannants and Squadron, including the set with the Crusader tank in 1:32nd. Sets on Squadron go from US$ 8.96. HTH.
  4. They sure do build computers with fast reactions.
  5. It looks like it could be yellow or white. Both colours were used. Were the scans any good by the way, didn't hear anything back from you?
  6. Piet, Errr, that's nothing short of stunning matey. Thanks for sharing and making me feel quite inadequate...
  7. They had this sheet of metal with the original paint still on it. I have no idea whether the green/grey colour that forms the base is covered in dirt or the legendary butterscotch lacquer.
  8. Just to try and stir some more up, thought I'd add these two picas I took last Sunday at the Yasukuni-Jinja in Tokyo.
  9. I'm out here in Asia and finding stuff about this bird is a litle bit like pulling hens teeth. Can anyone recommend any titles or publications??
  10. A Yak-3 sounds very interesting!

The biggest problem I've seen with all of the AM cockpit sets for the Hellcat is the instrument panel. Early Hellcats had non-illuminated instruments and had the litte cockpit lights to display them at night. Later Hellcats had self-illuminated displays and this changed the panel, each binnacle being deeper with a more champhered edge and no raised bezels. All AM sets are basically ok for early Hellcats but none are ok for late Hellcats with self-illuminated dials. (Sorry Fred ) The below diagram shows what I mean and no aftermarket set really captures this late Hellcat look properly at all.
  12. My Scanner and I aren't talking at the moment and I didn't bring the bok into work with me. Will Bring in on Monday and photcopy/scan and send then if that's ok gents.
  13. Chris, Sorry checked through Aero Detail, FAOW and two or three other Japanese magazines to see if they had anything, the closest I've come is BU 94203 an F6F-5K with VU-1 on Oahu in 1959. Colour scheme is Gloss Sea Blue with a black anti glare strip, Orange-Yellow wings, horizontal and vertical stabilisers with Insignia red rudder and wing bands. National Insignia are with a red bar, airfield tail code "UA" in black; "NAVY" in capital letters in white, the height being the same as the bar on the national insignia. Underwing "NAVY" stencil in black with "15" in superscript before this. Service code on cowl in white is "15", this and the airfield code on the tail is in 45 degree angled font. All other codes and stencils in rounded font. Sorry I can't help more. This was in FAOW No.71 (1998) page 86 along with two other training squadrons, one in New York State and another in Virgina.
  14. I'll have a look in the FAOW and the other Japanese books I've got at home for the Hellcat tonight and advise.
  15. Just had a look at the parts of the Revell repop of the Matchbox Dauntless and this one looks light years ahead - as it should do I suppose. It's a pity that the only British Dauntless was a test type for purchase, suppose I'll have to look at the New Zealand version, very nice nose art on those though!
