Over at Aeroscale. They have a monthly Model of the Month contest.

OK, thanks.

Kevin

I was going to procrastinate tonight, but decided to wait.

So, my query yielded one suggestion, two questions, and numerous witticisms.  Has not one of you built a model that has impressed you lately?

Welcome to LSP :). This is one of the factors that make this forum so friendly : our capacity to step back from "serious" regularly ...

As for your question, the budget return question was a serious one. If you have a high budget, what I have been impressed with are Silver Wings kits, and you can't be wrong with one of the recent Tamiya offerings.

On a more limited budget, I was impressed by the Revell Ar-196, and love many Special Hobby subjects, as well as the last Kitty Hawk kits, the T-28, OV-10, Kingfisher, which can be built into great replicas, even if demanding.

I haven't completed anything. The Hasegawa Shoki is a great kit. Mine's nearly finished.

A friend was raving about the Tamiya Corsair. Reckons it's a breeze.

The Cyber/Dragon 109 E's are awesome. I have one half built. You don't need anything. The Special Hobby Yak looks like a great kit. I have one but have not touched it. Just admired it through plastic bags.

I'd go with that, actually. Fair price as well.

I certainly haven't. I seem to spend far more time talking about and looking at models, than actually working on them.

In August I'll be sponsoring a model building contest.  As the sponsor, I'll be supplying the winner with a model kit.

So, please, tell me the best new-ish kit you've had the chance to explore and or build.

I've been most impressed by the 1/32 Tamiya Mosquito MkVI.

I dare ya' to give one of those away. :wicked:

I looked at WnW kits.  Seems there are two kinds:  The high priced famous fighters everyone wants and arm and a leg for or the twin seaters which are much less desirable.  They all cost a bit more than I want to spend.

A 1/32 Tamiya Mossie would be a great award, thank you for mentioning it.  But at 250.00 $AU, + shipping to me, then + registered shipping  to the winner...I'd be looking at 400$ AU.

A few people have mentioned this now - It's hard to provide suggestions when we have no idea on your budget!!

My bad!! ... it was indeed mentioned on the previous page ...

Gazzas ... I know you've knocked it back already - but a gift cert/card for someone like BNA Modelworld would be the best bang-for-buck in my opinion ... anything else and the postage costs alone are going to kill the budget - even using a budget shipping company like Sendle.

$30-50 of your budget is already gone!

How many participants are in your competition? ... Pop me some more details in a PM??

Rog :)

Missed it too

so under 100 AUD, I'd say Revell, Hasegawa, Kittyhawk latest offerings are good ones.
