Danny,

Simply outstanding modeling. Really looks like the real deal.

As a side note, if I were the pilot, I'm not so sure I'd like the idea of the radiator right behind me. Just the thought of a leak causing hot water to flow towards my neck and back, couldn't be a very comforting thought.

Thank's Joel for the really nice comment mate, much appreciated :speak_cool: .

According to the instructions there will be a wooden (i think) plate placed behind the pilot, which separates the cockpit from the radiator. Still, indeed, the idea that a bullet will put a hole into the plate and radiator isn't really a nice feeling for the pilot. :)

Bloody amazing work. I've gotten as far on mine as framing it up, then suddenly just stopped.  Soon,.. and if it's half as nicely done as this, I'll be thrilled

Hopefully you will turn to the Fee soon mate. It's indeed a great kit and a very interesting model, almost to nice to put it on the shelf of doom.

Hi Guy's,

lot's of people asked me regarding my wood grain technique how i achieve that result. So at first i had a plan to shoot a video of the WIP, but as i am no video guy, and my English isn't really what it should to be, i decided to shoot some extra photo's with the explanation of the several step's that need's to be taken.

I added some explanation into the photo's themselves so it is easy to copy them with the explanation.

I hope they are of some use to you guy's.

Ok, here we go

This whole piece takes about ten minutes to go from a plastic part to a wooden part with this technique.

The final result look's like this :

Due to the use of the oil paint, the drying time will be around a week. There are additives to get a quicker drying time, but i didn't use them yet with this technique.

Danny,

Thanks so much for sharing your technique with us.  After the weeks drying time, do you seal the oil paint with a Satin clear finish? (50/50 gloss/matt), or just a matt finish as the rest of the interior would be clear coated in?
