Hello Paul, you ever thought about a clear resin canopy correction for the Trumpeter A-7? Nothing major, just a new canopy and windscreen more rounded at the top at the bow. Your thoughts.

Chuck

I'm pretty sure my buddy Chris at Zactomodels is re-issuing his superb A-7 stuff in the near future, but yes, it's a good idea.

I just saw that Paul, I believe we will see the A-7 stuff sooner rather then later. Thanks for the response.

True. I have Chris's A-7 correction, and IIRC the vac glass is decent, but not like a FM&P windscreen and canopy would be!   Also, with no replacements available ATM, Im hesitant to even start it.

I know....................sorry, but your stuff is grand Paul, and I know you're not busy with anything else!       LOL!

Although its not a full kit, even a canopy/windscreen kit would take some work and time.

Chris once said the A-7 set was his best selling item, so I'm sure that he would love to get it back on the market.

If i remember correctly, Chris stopped the A-7 and Su-27 canopy correction sets because of the Vaccu process, which was not easy and reliable.

Same thing for Gary (GT Resin) for the F-105 canopy correction.

But Paul seems to perfectly master the clear resin casting, as well as HPH or Alleycat. But Paul is in the US. So could there be a collaboration between resin producers so that Paul could be a clear resin subcontractor for other people?

I dont know if it would be possible or not, but it would help Paul to save a lot of time as the master would be supplied by the correction set original designer.

Following the big Photobucket rip-off attempt, all my pictures on the forum cannot display anymore. I try to reupload the RFI pictures, but i'm not sure i'd have enough time and energy to reupload the pictures of the WIP threads. If you're interested in a specific subject and want me to reupload some pictures, just let me know. :)

Nevertheless, a resin cast A-7 windshield and canopy would be cool, the vacu canopy's aren't my stuff...
Best wishes,
Chris

Seems like a waste to just fix the canopy and leave the rest of the nose alone. The whole nose is messed up, with the squashed intake look of the old 1/48 Aurora/Monogram A-7. The Zacto set worked because it fixed both.

I'm thinking this was more on the lines of heading for a collaboration of some sort

I think it's been about 2 years now that I have been waiting for the Zacto A-7 correction set... About a year ago someone offered me a set for (IIRC) +/- $200, some days I think I should have taken it!

I agree with Chuck though - a replacement canopy would be fantastic. I can through sheer brute force and some "creative sculpting" (and lots of Squadron putty) fix the intake issue, but I'm a Dead Loss when it comes to vacuforming my own canopies.

Somebody recently put one on Ebay with "buy it now" for $150.  It didn't last long....

I agree with Dave above; we need to the whole nose and intake correction too.
