Haggis
I'm going to give this stuff a go. Which one is best, Pewter or Silver leaf for a NMF?
ChrisS
Silver leaf is brighter and Pewter is darker. This is Silver leaf over Tamiya gloss black from a rattlecan:
Haggis
Wow Chris, that's nice. Any top tips, I am doing a mightily weathered MiG-19, hopefully Pakistani but maybe Indonesian. Some questions for you. I know it's waxy, does it leave fingerprints? Do you need to seal it before decaling and will setting solutions affect it? Can you paint over it, if so with what? Thanks mate. The stang has quite a few coats of future over the RnB, then decals, then future again. The OD and black invasion stripes are acrylic, the white stripes are Tamiya white enamal from the rattlecan. The one thing you want to make sure of is not to buff it to "hot" as it has a tendancy to "pill up" and burn. In other words buff it slow. It'll strip off with 90% iso too, so it's very easy to fix a "spot" without worry. It'll go down looking exactly the same over the gloss black no matter how big or small the application. You can really take your time and do a good job in a small area and not have to worry about blending or any of that. GL! Also, with a heavy weathering pass due over the top, you are gonna love this stuff. Be sure and clear coat it if you are going to use any "hot" washes...personally I like oils and watered-down pastels over future as they are easy to control and they rinse/repeat well with minimal impact.
