It's a Super Cub ... the Cub's Big Brother and what an airplane. Of course I'm only being dramatic but I first soloed a J3 way back in 1965 and can't remember if Orville or Wilbur was my instructor.

You may joke, Peter, but I was actually acquainted with a guy whose pilots license was signed by Orville Wright, when he was head of the FAA. He was Charlie McAllister, an early pilot who lived in my area.

 

His old air service building is now a museum. Ironically, Super Cubs are now built in the building next door, at Cubcrafters, in a building my uncle once owned, which is how I met Charlie.
