W.W.1 subjects keep's getting me. After my visit to the Brussels Army museum, i saw some very nice W.W.1 subjects which triggered some feelings in me.

This one was a real time favorite for sure :

Ok, it's a Farman instead of a Fe.2b but the twin boomed design made some impressions to me.

So i decided to start the WNW Fe.2b "Early"

Aftermarket i'm gonna use are some HGW goodie's.

And some ground work

And this color scheme i will be using

Of course, a few years ago i made some wood color test's, and i will be using these to for this build.

Question for the specialists  :)

As i am gonna build Fe.2b 'Baroda 15' the instructions mentioned for the pilot's locker that the fuel lines needs to be removed.

LqS756Hh.jpg

I assume the reason for this is the lack of the 18 gallon petrol tank where the pilot sit's on??

But, when i look to the photo's of The Vintage Aviator Fe.2b which also has the pilot's locker, the fuel lines are still in place??

Pilot's locker

And the fuel lines

I'm a little bit confused about this. :hmmm:  Can anybody tell me why, or why their is a difference between these two cockpit configurations??

I assume TVA are keeping their options open & can install the tank as and when required in place of the locker?

Good point Dean, i didn't think about that.

At a certain point, i wanna keep those fuel lines, because this is nice detail. But, is it correct to keep them when i use the pilot's locker version??

I think that the Fe.2b was built in so many different versions that you'd be fine leaving the fuel pipes in.

You could argue that it was convertible, to carry the additional fuel-tank on longer bombing missions as necessary. But the weight was kept lower for shorter range operations by not carrying the heavy metal tank & it's fuel contents.

It's good enough for TVA!

Indeed, that is a good point you mentioned there Dean, thank's for the feedback

I think i will keep them, it gives much detail inside the cockpit.

Danny my friend. Gonna follow your progress on this forum too lol. It's like we're playing hide and seek hehehe
I'll be following along very closely, and blame you for encouraging me to start my first wnw kit a few years back because the bug has bitten so hard that the stash is actually as big as for the other 1/32 aircraft. There you go you made me buy the duelist camel and lvg today. Just for the lvg lol... i blab too much. On with your build. I just got the popcorn!

Karim, mate, thank's for hopping in. Oh yes, and the funny thing is, you find me......

Like i always said it, once you try a WNW kit your hooked my friend, there's no turning back.

I'm really glad i bought this Duelist kit, especially regarding the LVG, finally i got one, and the same for you. like i said before, regarding the Camel i need some very good reason to start it, because the Camel isn't really of any interest to me, but again, i got one so who's say's i can't get interested within some time

Ok, now it's time for me to seek you........i count to 100......ready start...........1...2...3...4.............. :frantic:

Genius move by WNW to have the LVG boxed with the Camel. I also bought it for the LVG.
