Looks like a flying target with all that roundels on Maybe the Russians used so many roundels to compensate that they had so little aircraft? Regards - dutik When WWI started, they had one of the larger AFs of any of the belligerents--263 aircraft, second only to the French. They pioneered a number of new designs, including the first deployed 4 engine bomber (no, the Germans did not do that). Their Achilles' heel was lack of an industrial base to make their own engines--hence all the export aircraft they used. Sorry, did my PhD on this...
