Just saw a little post on BM that Lego are coming out with a Saturn V Rocket in June.

Colour me excited!

I have been poking about on the internet and it looks to be about $170 Aus.  That's a pretty good price given the specs so far.  I usually don't get worked up over stuff like this but mix Lego with iconic spaceflight and you have me at your mercy.

I just hope these can be preordered so as to not miss out or get bent over by Australian retailers due to demand.

SWMBO already said, "Buy it! I don't want to hear you whine if you miss out."  So I'm a pretty happy chappie. :D

Yeah, that's been all over Facebook.  I'm definitely getting one!  I suspect they'll sell out quickly.

In Canada and the US, you can join the Lego VIP Club for free. It often gives you the chance to purchase new sets prior to their release to the general public.

It's not a pre-order, you can only buy it if it's ready to ship. It might worthwhile for this set.

I'm getting one for sure. It reminds me of the old Revell kit that you could store in its box when done. My grade school teacher had one and it was a great way to learn about the Apollo missions.

Just placed my order on the Lego UK webshop (Quite reasonable price too, modern Lego prices considered). Came close to spending a small fortune that I dont have on some of the Star Wars ones too, oooooh that Snowspeeder and TIE Fighter.

Today, backordering is 30 DAYS!!

Yeah, mine says 30 days, but I can wait. I could have rang up the Liverpool store to see if they had any and popped over later ( with the usual dilema of go the long way around Runcorn or pay the Mersey Tunnel charge £1.70 each way!) but I know a visit to an actual store would have entailed some major damage to my credit rating and then much searching of the model stash for stuff to sell on in an effort to repair the damage.

Me thinks there has been some delay in the supply pipeline.  I was contacted late yesterday by the hobby shop I pre order through that the set would now be available in July not June 1 as anticipated.  :( but I can wait, not that I have much choice but as I didn't even know about this set until a short while ago I can't really complain.  Besides Lego always comes though in the end.

The catalogue I received in the mark from Lego has a June 1 date on it. I'm off to the Lego store in a couple hours so I'll let you know what I find out.

June 1st was the release date I saw listed around the web when I first found out about this kit from this thread. Had my confirmation email from the Lego store earlier saying it is back ordered and it will ship when available and I won't be charged until it ships. I can wait, I only got in early because I'm not sure how long this kit will be around or if numbers on this side of the Atlantic might be more limited. I just know what those Star Wars kits go for when they go oop.

Ok, I just left the Lego store and they're definitely out. They had them bagged and ready to go, one per customer.

I picked mine up so I try to post a pic shortly.
