Trak-Tor
Thanks guys! I'm glad you like it.The progress is really slow.... But I'm also scratch-building my own cave in the meantime (together with my neighbors). It's in the basement, but it should be ventilated and hopefully ready for all the dirty work soon. And I'll have more time for the modelling when it'll be finished. I'm optimistic... Hey Trak-tor - an obvious side effect of this wonderfull project, is that you should use your 3D models to create a master for a cockpit for the old Revell kit Yes, I've been thinking about it already. I think I'll get the kit soon. A surgery is inevitable... Shawn M, sandokan and GROWLER 96

clarkis
Juraj - great beginning to an ambitious project! What/whose plans are you using for dimensional accuracy? Hope you can keep the momentum for this awesome project! Clark Cone - a Yank in King Arthur's Court!
Trak-Tor
Thanks, Clark. And sorry for a late reply. For the dimensions I do use original drawings. The 3D computer models are made in full scale, and are quite accurate, I think. Not an easy thing, but a lot of fun. I wish I had more time for this project, but then there are more important things on the daily schedule. Still I believe I can make something worthwhile out of it, sooner or later. Every piece of encouragement and help is therefore apprecciated. Juraj Edited February 23, 2018 by Trak-Tor
Trak-Tor
Another small update, just to show this project is alive... I have managed to progress with the Armour Plating in the 3D model: This would be normally hiden under the skin. But it may be visible in the model at the end somehow. Who knows... And I have also added a heap of building material into my inventory: And few useful tools too. So, hopefuly, I'll have some update on the build soon. And one more package have arrived lately: There are also the Aviaeology decals there. I've got them mostly for the reference, but they might end up on some model sometime in the future... So, I think, a new thread will appear soon. Though I plan to perform some surgery on the Revell model first, just to see how precise it is.And then, who knows... Cheers. Trak-Tor
Hello world! The summer is over (and the heat was not the toughest thing on my side) and it's time for an update. However small... This project is not dead yet, you know. Following things were produced few months ago - april/may, but I think it's ok to publish them now. I hope some new progress will be visible on my bench soon. Here's my attempt to shape the diaphragms, even the flanged holes. I must say that's a lot of work. The at bottom left has the flanges sanded already. I hope it will look just fine when put together. Still I need to find out how to do the rivets on the sides... And this is a test version of the instrument panel supporting frame. Tubes and superglue only: I'll have to redo this as the shape is a bit crooked. And I'll need to practice the art of soldering for this kind of work, I think. Well, and now something virtual. I've managed to do the back of the pilot's seat in 3D, at last. It's not complete, but I'll get to that someday too... I've also started to prepare some PE stuff the airscale way. But I need to master that to have some reasonable results. I'll be back soon. I promise...
