Which would be the baseline kit? OR- Is the 110C7 essentially the same as the D/E nightfighter, just with the added radar sprue?

I'd consider a deposit, but would also want to see a timeframe, projected complexity, and a projected release. I always liked Radu's approach of doing a WIP, so that would be something I'm sure many would like to see, and would have the added benefit of perhaps shifting some people off the fence towards a purchase.

I've never really been any sort of fan of the night fighter version, so that's a no for me.

I think we need to narrow the focus of the conversion kit.

If we start getting into engines (exposed) etc I think we're going to fail. Being honest here not trying to be a jerk.

The G's through out their evolution had a plethora of accoutrements (belly pods, rocket pods, radar variations, etc).

I think we should focus on what makes a 'G a 'G. Engine Nacelles, Props, Spinners, Rudders and maybe Upper Nose section.

Yes, it will have to interact with the kit with (ideally) minimal hacking and slashing. Luckily the Dragon kits have engine nacelles that are decently laid out for conversion already!

The rudders/vertical stabs could be a one piece conversion or just the rudders.

The upper nose section is already (like the real one) a separate piece so this is an easy mod to make a conversion for any of the 'G noses.

I was wrong, its one piece

I agree Mike.

The nice part is, the c and d/e kits are almost (lets not argue) the same shape wise if you exclude the dauchlebach and boat tails

Does anyone have the C and E kits to compare them?

Here is a very good photo of Schnaufer's last ride in the RAF Museum in North London:

In ref to the pic Bill added:

the add on armor around the pilot and spent shell guides would be an easy sheet styrene addition

the belly ETC pack is a kit part

the upper nose is a later twin 20mm unit

smooth tires on the mains (kit included D/E)

windscreen armor (kit included D/E)

The D had a larger tail wheel than the C, and there is a different tailwheel provided for the E, though I don't know why, maybe someone with the D/E kit can take a look, but I would say the E-2 trop kit would be best for a G, as it also comes with the correct drop tanks.

The E, it seems, had smooth tyres, both main and tail, like the G, so the E-2 is the kit to get.
