Are we talking only LSP or any kind of kit? The 1/32 Special Hobby Tempests are said to be very good kits. Also heard great things about Hobby Boss' 1/48 Su Flankers. This is coming from people who have built the kits, not just in box reviews. Also, if you wanna know what's trending, there's a list of the most popular kits on scalemates.com

Oops, I thought American dollars. What about the "non Hi-Tech" Tempest without all the resin bits? That's quite a bit cheaper.

Hi guys,

My budget is not strictly 100$.  I'm flexible to a point.  Shipping costs aren't something I'm overly worried about.  I consider is a secondary cost, not counted in the 100$ budget.  The only firm (rule) point is that it must be an aircraft model.  One of my personal points is that I wouldn't gift anyone something less than 1/48 scale.

I'll check out the Hobby Boss Tiffies and Flankers.  I'll also check out the trending stuff over at scalemates.  Thank you for all the great replies!

Revell's AR-196 B (single float). I have the "A" (twin float), and it's a beauty of a kit.

I started building my shelf of doom, but I never finished it.

I haven't completed anything. The Hasegawa Shoki is a great kit. Mine's nearly finished.

A friend was raving about the Tamiya Corsair. Reckons it's a breeze.

The Cyber/Dragon 109 E's are awesome. I have one half built. You don't need anything. The Special Hobby Yak looks like a great kit. I have one but have not touched it. Just admired it through plastic bags.

I'd go with that, actually. Fair price as well.

Shameless Plug Alert!!

I built the Arrii Ki-44 Shoki a couple of years ago...  and foiled it.  I'm into foiling in a big way.  It's the only thing I do well that most guys won't even try.

I over weathered the prop a bit...lol

I also have the Hasegawa kit in my stash...  unopened.

Thanks for looking!
