Thanks Iain for your really great initiative on the display theme for next year.

A VERY GOOD plan!

Here's what Mike Tayt and myself are targeting for completion for the RAF 100 Anniversary.

Mike

1/24 scale Typhoon (Bubble Top)

1/24 scale Mosquito

1/24 scale Spitfire Mk V  (Europe)

1/32 scale Hurricane Mk1 (Malta)

1/32 scale Hawker Hunter (RAE)

Roy

1/24 scale Spitfire Mk V (Desert)

1/24 scale Hurricane Mk IID (Desert)

1/24 scale Typhoon (Car Door)

1/32 scale Meteor T7

1/32 scale B -17 Mk II  100 Group (Special Mission)

1/32 scale Tornado GR1 (RAE)

We have a number of built models in reserve and these await listing until required to avoid duplication.

So far we are not duplicating on any projects by the look of it.

Should be a stunning display again!

I forgot to add the Meteor T7 (in build) and an outsider 1/32 scale Westland Lysander.

Old age creeping up there!  he he.

Hmmm I have some potential candidates in the stash but haven't decided yet what I'll be building the coming year. IF I'm able to make it to Telford 2018 and IF I have any finished subjects and IF I can take them with me I'd really like to join in. That's three very big if's

We don't accept 'if's' Sebastian, :) build them and bring them over my man!

Seriously though, would love to see something on the stand if you can make it?

Did you get home with all those models intact btw?

Pretty much sums it up for me, but even if I can't be there in person ( :(  ) I may be able to send at least one model.

As for what I may do, I have in mind a Sopwith Snipe in post-war 19 Sqn markings, and/or maybe a Meteor, I'm thinking 63 Sqn for that one.   I can supply a couple of Spitfires already done, and/or a Hawk in ETPS colours.  But watch this space, I'm notorious for going off at tangents in my modelling.

So far we are very short on bipes!

Anyone that can add these to our display will qualify for a free beer!

I know Ollie Holmes is looking to do a couple but we need more if we can get them.

Thanks. :)

Was thinking same Roy - just added a couple of bipes to my list - no warranty given, or implied!  :)

Would a WNW Bristol F.2b in post war RAF markings count? It's on my winter schedule anyway,

so I could contribute to the display.

I had to spread the contents of the Revell Republic Star Destroyer among other kits (for once I was grateful for their flimsy boxes) but they all got home safely. B)

I've been dying to start one of my Wingnut kits so that's definitely an option for me. I was thinking about doing the SE.5, would that be a good start for a Wingnut virgin?

The RAF became of age as an independent service on 1st April 1918 so if your model represents markings on or after that date then that would be fine. Not being picky but we're trying to stay true to the spirit of the anniversary. Have fun with the model!

At least one of the decal options in the WNW SE.5A is for a post-April 1918 aircraft - option E iirc - so fill your boots.

I'd like to think that with this incentive I'd aim towards completing my Avro Anson, Fairchild Cornell and at least one Harvard, all in Rhodesian Air Training Group finish.
