williamj
Now I don't normally do any reviews..but this has to be presented. Just received two RAF (late) pilot figures from Reedoak and I simply don't have enough superlatives to adequately describe how wonderful they really are. First is fidelity of scale, simply real individual pilots scaled down to 32nd in resin,no seams, nothing to attatch, not a thing to "clean"up...as smooth and detailed as one could possibly get. You are going to believe you're viewing a real person shrunk down to 54mm. Everything is there molded in place, from the radio leads and oxygen hose down to the curled boot strap end on the senior pilot's boots.and the details are free hanging from the figure. The new figures from Reedoak have now raised the bar on scale figures to a level only previously found in ones imagination.(kinda sounds like the Twilight zone) Order a few,and you'll accuse me of understating how marvelous they are I'm sure. LSP_Kevin
They really do look fantastic, William. Way beyond my meagre figure painting skills, though. Kev williamj
geedubelyer
Could n't agree with you more William. I recently had the pleasure of painting the modern pilot in baseball cap. Great stuff. Keep it up Norbert and Reedoak. Cheers. williamj
norbert
Many thanks William here is a picture from Petri in 1/72, just to give some stress to Kevin for the new year... from his facebook page here : https://www.facebook.com/petri.kovanen?fref=photo I do not know how to say that this kind of figure are easier to paint than plastic figures, it need time, many very thin layers, ....and think we are a minimum skilled, that's the hardest. Happy new year to all Norbert williamj
Steve Eagle
I am trying to find out what they offer, but can't seem to get into a site. williamj

richdlc
yes, they are truly amazing figures - probably the best available. mozart
Have to agree with everything William has said, just superb models and I have this one also. One important thing that I'm learning as I practise my figure painting skills is that the better, sharper and more defined the figure is, the "easier" the painting is - the term easy is of course relative because none are easy, but with a well delineated figure you can see exactly where your colours and variations go. I haven't done this pilot yet but I'm looking forward to it Max williamj
Iain
They look superb! Figures are definitely the next best thing in our scale - just wish I could master painting them - I know, practice, practice, practice Iain williamj
thierry laurent
Be very careful with such figures!!!! They are worse than cocaine! You will be addicted before understanding what is going on... You have been warned ;-) williamj and LSP_Paul
williamj
Again, those are superb. The only thing I would add is that the pilot wearing the cap looks awfully old and jowly to be an RAF pilot in WWII. I've noticed that on some of the other figures. Might think about getting younger models to scan Well he looks younger than I do ...and we must assume some pilots were a bit on the heavy side. Hptm. Assi Hahn comes to mind..literally had to shoehorn himself into the 109. Edited January 7, 2016 by williamj
phasephantomphixer
Top notch must have's. With that, where does a non-facebook user living in the US go to purchase theirs?

wunwinglow
Maybe they can do a set of different heads? I passed on that one for exactly that reason. But I did order the other one!
