Rattler68
Great start! For some of those details a wash will help bring them out and even out some of the color boundaries. Cheers, Tom Can you point me to somewhere where I can see how to properly do that without oil-based washes? I have a Badger 150 anthem.
LSP_Ray
If you want a water-based wash, I suggest Flory washes. Here is a tutorial: http://www.florymodels.co.uk/weathering-wash/ Uncarina
Guest Clunkmeister
Rattler, washes will just even stuff out and tend to blend any harsh color demarcations, making it all appear real natural. You'll be seriously surprised the difference it makes. I use Vallejo washes myself, and I've also started mixing my own as well using distilled water, water based paint, and dish soap. Whichever wash you use, apply over a gloss surface and it'll collect in natural low spots and seams....
Rattler68
Thanks, LSP_Ray and Clunkmeister. I'll look into this.
Rattler68
I use Vallejo washes myself, and I've also started mixing my own as well using distilled water, water based paint, and dish soap. Can you give me the proportions for each, or the ratios?? water:paint:soap?
