Marmaduke
Ok everyone, I warned you I was a slow builder! I did some painting today on the cockpit and I hope to do whatever decaling there is to be done tomorrow during the day. I hope to have an update tomorrow evening. In the meantime, happy modeling! David Hansen
Don't rush thru the decaling of the cockpit; take your time and if possible, add the decals to the components before you glue them into the cockpit frame. Makes maneuvering the decals into place much easier. I learned this thru self discovery (trial and error). -d- Mal_Belford and Marmaduke
Marmaduke
Thanks for the tip David. I'm not going to end up using every decal, just the ones I think will stand out the most and look the best without going over too many raised details. Also I haven't painted the inside of the fuselage yet so I still have those decals to do. Anyhow here's what I have today and as always, thanks for looking! geedubelyer, Anthony in NZ, Lars Befring and 5 others
Guest
Looks great. Those little bitty Barracuda decals gave me fits.
Marmaduke
Not much to report today but I did finish the seatbelts...too bad the seat isn't finished for them. Working all weekend so hopefully make some progress next week. Thanks for looking! andromeda673, Lars Befring, geedubelyer and 2 others
geedubelyer
Hi Maramaduke, just catching up with your Corsair and I'm impressed by the high quality of your work so far. Good job sir. The belts look most realistic to my eyes and I look forward to seeing them in position on the seat when you get that far. Keep up the good work, Cheers. Marmaduke
Greetings everyone. I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone for the kind words, tips and encouragement! It really is helping to keep me motivated to get more done so thanks again! I have a couple of pics that I forgot to post yesterday. The first one is a comparison between the kit cowl flaps and the Vector cowl flaps. The tiny resin pieces on the Vector part gave me a hard time and I ended up breaking a couple but luckily they included a few extras for just such an occasion. Thanks Vector! I'm not totally done with them, I still plan on adding the wire that goes around it. The second pic is the cowl with the kit ribs removed and the Vector ribs installed. It still looks a little rough but I think it will look fine with a coat of paint and not to mention you won't even be able to see much once installed on the plane is my thought. That's all for now and as always, thanks for looking! Mal_Belford, Lars Befring and andromeda673

David Hansen
You have made a great start with the cockpit decalling. Clearly the work is in good hands! The belts look very nice as well. Admittedly not one of my strong points. Thanks for posting! david Marmaduke
Marmaduke
I finally sprayed the cockpit pieces interior green. Now to let it cure before I can do some more decals. andromeda673 and S.Pelletier
Marmaduke
Mainly done with the cockpit except for the sidewalls. Some touch ups here and there to do but nothing major. andromeda673 and CANicoll
