I have just got a Canon 1300D - https://en.m.wikiped...Canon_EOS_1300D

Just got to get to grips with it.........

I'm on the lookout for a new camera too, and have recently had this one recommended to me (with a dedicated macro lens), so I'm quite interested in your impressions of it!

I have a couple of Nikon's, and these are just fabulous in use. Why, great color saturation, great grip in hand ( to be honest, better then Canon) and an easy menu in regarding settings (my thought's).

If you look for a new camera, just try both, and then make a decision. I did that also, and i felt for Nikon.

The red one is the camera i use for my modeling pic's.

I liked the price and the functionality i.e. fully manual or auto, definitely a macro for close work, tried on Tempest cockpit, the standard goes to down to 18, results were good but macro would have been better. Impressed for far but still haven't used it fully to give a full report.

I have a D5200 nikon and i really love it. I was going to get a canon since they had a good package deal. But in my hands it dosent feel as good as my nikon. Also this one came with the new ui that visualize the setting and makes it easy to understand what your actually doing in manual mode.
I have a 18-200mm(goto lens); 35mm (modeling lens great for blocking and very short focus dist ); 55-300mm and stock 18-55mm.

My LSP pal, Mark (dodgem37), has taken it upon himself to give me this pristine Trumpeter 1:24 Bf 109G-6 kit, and I am just thrilled silly about it. This will be started almost immediately, for one of my entries in the 2019 national convention; I already have a few AM bits for it, and will soon be buying more. Thanks again, Mark, you're a truly awesome gent, and I appreciate your generosity a lot, my friend.

It's so 'strangely' painted it makes it look like a 48th scale cockpit...i thought details would be much sharper, i figure the paint used must have been quite thick!!

K

The cockpit looks like the thing sat in the desert for 5 years with the windows broken out.

I had to use the emergency eyewash to try and unsee that mess.  As it turns out, it can't be unseen.

Great. They will most certainly be used on this project, Kev, so thank you once again; you're a good guy for doing it, and they will be very handy.

Saw that review. Nice in that scale too, as the added detail only gets more necessary with the larger scale.

Oh yes, Barracuda does some excellent stuff, for sure.
