Diameter of ignition harness on an R-2800

I will assume that this is not an academic queation. I recommend that you identify the specific kit or resin engine and make a prototype or two of the loop on the engine. Decide the diameter of the wire by comparing the look of your loop relative to the front components of the engine. Look at a reference or two. I would then select the wire that looks good and the fabricate the loop out of styrene rod so you can drill small holes to attach the plug wires.

Hope this helps,

Rick

As a ballpark figure, the high tension leads on R-2800's (and many other engines) are approximately 0.5 inches (12.7 mm) in diameter (.02 inches in 1/32) give or take a fraction of an inch or two. So 0.020 or 0.025 wire will suffice.  As Rick mentioned, I'd get a small sample of said diameter wire (or Evergreen styrene rod) and see how it looks.  Sometimes actual measurements don't look correct when coupled with something else that may or may not be scaled exactly the same (even though it's supposed to be).
