marauderdriver
Amazing work, Jack. And what an amazing kit this was back in its day! Kev Thanks Kev. With some TLC and a little grinding she is coming along pretty well. jack This kit really qualifies for this build? Looking good! Thanks Shaka Hi ....Well its old .....jack Jack, have a question, the guns, are they too far back ? The ammo is feeding into the spring assembly, not the receiver. Not knocking your build buddy, just looks odd.....Harv Hey Harv, well the guns are where Revell wanted them since I am building this out of the box. We know from experience that a lot of stuff on models looks odd but most change it. Since I'm ODD, I'm going to leave it ....this time...jack Jack, I wasn't so keen on Jurassic Park but really love your Jurassic Plastic buddy ! that Engine looks quite exquisite and your Workmanship is SUPERB. you are far too humble about your achievements and work.... you should shout about it like others do! pleasing build to follow. Keep Jack going .. Thanks MARU. I'm just a little old glue sniffer building em like I like em....fortunately you and some others enjoy looking after me. I appreciate you and the others..jack mpk
Guest
Jack, no doubt they are in the "right" place, just don't understand them getting that wrong and have such excellent detail in other spots. Just have to shake my head. But a great job non the less........Harv
marauderdriver
Harv, Maybe Revell had my problem of finding gun bay photos for a Raiden. I would bet Martinb has a stackof them...he comes up with more photos then anyone I know..Just have to get his attention I'm going to use the lack of photos as the problem jack mpk
LSP_K2
It may be old, but it looks like an excellent kit. I'm seriously considering a Hasegawa kit, perhaps sometime this year. mpk
marauderdriver
It really is a pretty good kit but I know that the wing/fuselage is going to take some CA on the right rear. Something is not quite square so it will need some pressure to stay. Added the cowl flaps to the mount ring, then engine and lastly the exhaust. I have the bottom cowl glued to the nose ring so I can remove the top cowl and see the "HIGHLY DETAILED ENGINE"........this is the FUN part for me...... Hubert Boillot
Nice engine Jack But, If Revell got it right, then the admission and exhaust valves were lifted in the same time. Difficult to get any compression and any power in these circumstances . Hubert mpk and marauderdriver
marauderdriver
Thank You Hubert, It is one of those Mysteries of the Orient!!.. It's why I had mentioned "Not to Laugh" . And also the advantage of building OOB. I'm ready to keep things calm in the hobby room I have some conversion sets to keep the excitement (Blood Pressure) up when I want to push a limit on occasion Models have come along way in 55 years I'm collecting those I grew up with and building for pure pleasure with what's in the box. Although the new Airfix Victor has been added to my acquire list. jack jack mpk

marauderdriver
Haven't made alot of progress in the last week. As I was grinding thru to improve the wing fit I started to think about paint-job. After some thought....MAN! that HURTS!!...I decided that even thou I may have to "draw" the tail lettering, I was doing the captured bird at ClarkAB. So last Friday evening I masked and sprayed the rudder White. Sat while masking the blue stripe, my work co-hort, calls to tell me the water pipe burst in the museum attic over the storage area. So here is a weeks progress. Managed 3 days work and now have to wait for the Air Force Report on the asbestos on Tuesday. Since this is 3rd time in 5 years a pipe broke in our HARSH Louisiana WINTER, they talking about possible long term fix. Thank to the guys who bought some kits in short notice.
