Shawn M
lol you got it. If I were to do it again, I'd chop the whole roof off the gear bay and build it that way. Far easier then the small filler bits I've made Big Texan and LSP_K2
Shawn M
gear bays done and initial paint work down...primer then gunmetallic. Need to come back and start the lighter metal shades then get some base weathering and detail painting done. Been pretty busy this week, pics to come by friday Shaka HI
Shawn M
Friday update: After an enamel wash the hazing on the spinner went away. An ink wash on the props brought them to life as well finished the gear bays and shot them in german grey primer then shot them in Gun Metallic after that a light spray of Steel on the edges and between the ribs a matte coat sealed the deal and will allow me to start the base weathering Big Texan, Alain Gadbois, BradG and 3 others

Shawn M
Thanks Peter, once I get the details painted in the gear bays they should really pop! Plus I have a great material to represent the fuel tanks in front of the spar

Shaka HI
Nice! You couldn't roughly mask the edges to the landing gear bays to prevent all that nasty over spray so it's presentable during the build?!?!? Lazy bum. Shawn M
Bryan
Looking fantastic in every sense. When I built mine I was a bit disappointed with the....minimal...landing gear detail that comes on the Revell kit, but too lazy to do anything about it. Yours are coming along brilliantly. Shawn M
lol Shaka Thanks Bryan, had the bays been shaped properly I would have left them and just done the spar area. But the lack of depth had to be corrected. I'd thought about plumbing and wiring it but am calling it good enough. Shaka HI

Iain
Shawn - this is stunning! I have very happy memories of this kit - it was my first LSP - bought for me by my grandmother when I was about 12 - so your build is making me smile. Needless to say my build of the period was light years away from this one! Show's just what can be done with an old canvass...
