SBD-5 backdated to 2 or 1

Hey all,

I got a chance to score an old Matchbox SBD5 Dauntless cheap, but I really want an SBD1/2 pre-war yellow wings bird,

What, if anything, must be done to backdate the kit to make it a more period correct bird?

Thanks,

Cheers, Ian

Off the top of my head,

Differences in cowling flaps and size of forward vent slot in sides of front fuselage.

Different prop

Telescopic gunsight projecting through hole in windscreen

Single .30 for rear gunner

Carb scoop on top on engine cowling, and it was larger on the -1 than on later models.

dash 1 to 4 fuselage length was 32' 8â€, dash 5 and 6 length was 33'

the link I provided above explains it all

The early one had a prop spinner they later deleted, that accounts for the extra 2â€
