  1. Thank you, Fine Gentlemen! Have decided to revisit the tail wheel bay, in the initial iteration having used PE from the D variant (page 4 of this thread). The parts that have replaced the PE are plastic from Trumpeter.
  2. Many thanks, I think I finally figured it out! Have managed to get some surgical rod and cut two sections, that will give strength to the cannibalized trumpeter main gear legs with the bonus of its natural color. The plastic forks require some work, as you can see.
  3. Actually, there is some progress, but I keep getting the "You are not allowed to use that image extension on this community." error while trying to post the pictures. The pictures are hosted by Google. Not particularly Internet savvy, so... I'm stuck.
  4. Thank you for the alternative provided. But most of the work is already done, will not scrap it. As soon as the 1/48th Superfortress is done will resume work on the Mustang. After all not much has remained to do in the cockpit - just the bubble canopy mechanism and the gun sight. Will then proceed to close the fuselage halves, do the panel lines and rivets on fuselage, dress it in aluminum foil, do the wings and the spinner. Should be done in a reasonable amount of time, at least in theory that is...
  5. Not here, I won't defile the sanctity of this place with lesser scales!
  6. Eager to resume work on the Mustang, but it has to wait a little, I was commissioned to do a 1/48th Monogram B-29, aluminum foiled.
  7. Thank you very much, exactly what I needed!
  8. Thank you! Electronics wiring for the thick piping while the thinner ones are made from stretched sprue.
  9. Thank you! Question: is port same as starboard?
  10. It is on hold, due to lack of information regarding the canopy actuation mechanism for the blown canopy. Can anybody PLEASE HELP so that work can resume?
  11. Maybe what you say is true, but this does not change the fact that Trumpeter has given the wrong nose for what they have written on the box and the Zacto nose is the way to go.
  12. Out of my 27 aircraft kits not a single Tamiya in my stash. In 1/32nd there are 10 Revell kits, 5 Hasegawa, 5 Trumpeter, 1 Dragon, 1 Pacific Coast, 1 Roden and 1 Special Hobby. And then there are the 1/24th Airfix kits. Most of them are oldies requiring extensive work, just take a look: https://www.scalemates.com/profiles/mate.php?id=11681&p=stash&fkSECTION[]=Kits Enough for a lifetime and beyond, so I culled the worse.
