My wife, Anne, was very patient with me when I shouted for help holding everything together whilst I taped her up (I did give her some latex gloves to wear - did I say this stuff was messy).

Have fun...

You know this specific sentence could be read very differently from your initial meaning ;) ?

Great work on the Connie, and good to see her on the go again !

Hi Guys,

I saw the tail unit and the cockpit parts on Thursday evening and they are outstanding. The details on the engineers panel won't be visible when the model is closed up so it was a real privilege to see the unit prior to that.

And that tail unit is huge!

Hoping to see more of it at Telford.

Regards,

Bruce Crosby

Just great stuff Iain, really enjoy your builds.

That epoxy will go everywhere except where you want it!  :fight:  I started using the 5 minute stuff, much less stress!

Dan

Hi Dan,

I usually use the 5 minute stuff - but no good for something this size...  :frantic:

The 30 minutes (ish) only just give enough time to apply the glue and get everything clamped and taped before it started going off!

First pass over the joints - smoothing off the polyester car body filler - and looking good!

In fact so good, well, I couldn't resist...

and,

well,

I sneezed!  :)

Note - wings not fully seated at roots yet as I need to make openings for the flap area.

Also nose is dry fitted, but needs a lot of work before fitting - as does the dorsal radar 'fin' which needs to be a lot thicker - so please be gentle with any observations at this stage plaese!  :innocent:

And to give scale, an Eduard 1:32 Bf109E:

Definitely feels like we're getting somewhere at last!

Have fun!  :piliot:

Is it just me, or does the fin look too tall ?

Fins are bang on - measurements directly from Lockheed drawings  :)

Middle one is in an odd position at the mo as I still need to modify the fuselage immediately ahead of the tail plane...

Don't mean to be off topic on an awesome build thread, but why post this? It's offensive.

It's not offensive at all, it's a joke between staff members......

Looks kinda small Iain,  LOL

Looking good

Ron

Just an old inside joke. It has nothing to do with religion and is not in any way meant to be offensive.
