"Don't call me a mindless philosopher"- Bandai C3PO

Seeing that it's been over a month since I built one of the Bandai Star Wars kits, I thought I'd give this one a go.

One reason I picked it was the majority of the kit is gold plated which means there wouldn't be much painting.

There are a few bits that weren't plated but just moulded in gold coloured plastic so I gave those parts a coat of Mr Metal Color Gold.

I started assembly with Threepio's head.

There's an optional face piece with a dent in it that you can use but I went with the unblemished one.

Next up was the hips followed by the upper torso.

Again, there's an optional piece if you want to have the restraining bolt the Jawas put on him.

Here was the only part with any significant paintwork required. The lower torso is moulded in black with a bunch of wires. Bandai gives you a sticker with the wires printed on it to apply but I figured that wouldn't look too good. So I painted them on as best I could.

There's additional cabling and stuff that get attached over top and then it goes onto the upper torso.

Then on with his head!

From here, the assembly was going so fast, I didn't stop to take as many photos.

Here's his legs, right one assembled and his left laid out.

With Goldenrod's leg attached, he now looks like someone who beat a Wookie at a game of chess.

And then he was finished:

Next to Vader, he seems a bit short.

It is Vader that tall? Anyways, a quick fun build. Now back to Spitfires.

Looks interesting - just hope you manage to find some room on your bench to build it!

Thanks Dean. Fortunately, it didn't take up much space and even less time. I think I spent maybe an hour total building the kit.

These Bandi kits are a lot of fun!

I would like a R2 to go with C3PO but I have ZERO interest in building or even purchasing a R5.

In that case, you can get R2 paired with BB8 now as well.

R2 is probably my favourite character from the series so having a second one won't be bad.
