Hey Mark, here's what I use:
20171201_072409-L.jpg

I got it at the bass pro in Grapevine. It's been great so far. I color it with the sharpie and I've had no issues with the color coming off. It also tightens up well with a little heat.

Hi Tony,

I like your choice of rigging material. Did you have any trouble bringing the line back through the tube? I use 0.12mm line, which goes through without too much hassle. Just wondered how the 0.17 performed.

Cheers,

Bob

I wasn't able to run this size line back through the buckles. I did run my EZ line used for control lines back through the buckles without any trouble. I placed the buckles at the end of the rigging lines trying to mirror what I saw in photos of a restored Snipe. I will be using .12 line on the Felixstowe because it used so many different sized lines. I'll report on that in my Felixstowe build thread.

Also, the only dirt I will apply is a little bit on the rudder, wheels, and foot placements.

Hey Tony, to get down to .12mm (.004")

you may need tippet line that's 7X.

Beautifully done Tony! It looks fantastic and I love the scheme you ultimately chose.

If you do weather it I'd keep it light like the others have suggested. It already looks sooo nice.

Cheers,
Wolf

I did the weathering today, nothing but a little dirt on the tires and bottom of the rudder. It's very subtle as you gents suggested and I like it. The resin on my base is drying overnight and it should be done tomorrow.

Tony, this is the fishing line I found, it’s steel gray, .010mm.

Don't know how I missed this. Must have been getting ready for Christmas.

What a nice model and a great display base.
