mozart
So the IP is coloured PE supplied with the kit David? It's all looking rather splendid so far, looking forward to seeing more! Max
dennismcc
That looks very nice indeed, and OOB, which bodes well for the rest of the kit. Cheers Dennis
Dukie99
The colored IP is indeed provided in the box, it is made of three pieces glued on top of each other which gives it a nice 3D effect. I checked tonight the PCM website (www.pacmodels.com) and this kit appears to be still in stock and is sold for USD 70. David mozart
geedubelyer
Nice start David and a hearty welcome. I suspect that this kit will take alot more work than the Tamiya kits but you'll end up with a great Spitfire at the end of it. Keep at it. Cheers. monthebiff
Very nice work, I'm currently building a PCM Hurricane and its a really nice kit, I'm sure the Spit will build up just as nicely. Regards. Andy geedubelyer
Dukie99
Hi everyone. Maru Thank you for encouraging me to post. I made some progress but there is not a ton to see for now because it has been a lot of sanding, puttying and resanding. The fit of this kit is not bad at all but by all means it does not fall together without effort. Here are two in progress shots: Since these two shots, I have finished sanding, rescribed some of the lost panel lines and rivets and primed the kit. I have applied the sky color on the tail and the yellow on the front of the wings. Once I have masked these I will start the camo. I have also done the prop and wheels and will post some pictures tonight. Thanks for following this build, this is a fun GB and I am very much looking forward to the Eric Brown GB starting as we should see an amazing range of airframes (I am thinking of building a HS-123...). mozart
Well done David, looks like a lot of hard work there but I'm sure the end result will be worth it. Looking forward to more progress shots soon. Max

geedubelyer
Super looking Spitfire David. You've made a good fist of things so far, well done. The spinner and blades look particularly good. Cheers.

Collin
Awesome....love seeing these kit's being built. Not the easiest of builds...but if you are careful they turn out very very nice. As I type this, I'm looking at mine on the shelf. http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=58155&hl=%2Bcollin+%2Bspitfire&do=findComment&comment=713547 Cheers Collin
dennismcc
It's looking good, that big spinner, 5 blades and the Griffon nose really gave an aggressive look to this Mark of Spitfire. Cheers Dennis
Dukie99
Collin, your spit looks amazing! I very much doubt will be looking as good, but I will try my best. I have done the camo. It looks pretty harsh right now but I will tone it done with a blue-grey filter. To mask the camo, I used Panzer putty: Pretty amazing stuff, it warps around details very gently and is a breeze to remove and reusable too. On the home stretch now. Thanks for watching.
