Out2gtcha
Honestly, you NEED R/C ships that fast to be THAT big! 1/4 scale R/C ducted fans and pulse jets are SO fast that they get out of sight before you know what happened. Really cool to see in the air! mpk
Guest Smitty44
I used to build and fly balsa gliders. It just hurt too much to watch one of those things pile into the ground after so many hours of work. I used to use a high start, which is a long bungee cord staked into the ground on one end and a hook on the other that attached to the glider. You pull it back and shazaam off you go. Well once my glider did not disconnect so not only did the cord pull it straight into the ground it drug it about 30 yards leaving a trail of wreckage all the way. All I got back on the cord was the hook from the glider and a small section of plywood reinforced balsa. The humanity! mpk
LSP_Ron
I was into scale RC too and was 30% owner in an RC shop, Loose a few long term builds and it's just too much handle. Life is too short to spend 1000's of hours on a model just to watch it pile in from a radio hit or engine flame out etc mpk, Out2gtcha and LSP_Matt
AdamR
Honestly, you NEED R/C ships that fast to be THAT big! 1/4 scale R/C ducted fans and pulse jets are SO fast that they get out of sight before you know what happened. Really cool to see in the air! Pulse jets in RC? I saw them ages ago in control line speed. They were unbelievably loud. Never saw a pulse jet RC, though I think it's been done a time or two. Ducted fans are almost gone except for electrics, which tend to be the smaller ones. They are fast but not tremendously so. RC jets nowadays are exactly that: genuine turbojets. And, yes, they get out of sight in a hurry. Edited June 27, 2017 by AdamR mpk
Out2gtcha
Saw a quarter scale pulse jet Me-163 awhile back.............pretty neat. Just like the real deal, scale fuel run then a glide in after a bomber run! mpk and AdamR
