TAMIYA P-51D OLD CROW: UPDATE 1/4/14: FINISHED & IN THE BOOK

[...] Alclad is lacquer and so is their base.

I'm not so certain about that Peter. The bottle I have of their Gloss Black Base has a notice on the label that says "CONTAINS Mineral Spirits", which suggests to me that it's enamel-based rather than lacquer. It certainly smells like it! I have to say I generally prefer Humbrol's gloss black under Alclad now.

Thanks Kev

I took a look and you're right. I just assumed it was lacquer because the Bottle says Alcad II Lacquer. I guess it really just the name for the product line.

That is an absolutely gorgeous build!

The NMF turned out really good, as well as the subtle weathering.

The vignette is a nice touch as well.

I hope that mine will turn out as half as good as yours.

regards,

Markus

UPDATE: 1/4/14 .. FINISHED AND IN THE BOOKS.

Old Crow is finely finished or just about ,with a few odds and ends to be done in a week or so. I just want to make sure there are no problems, especially with the one temperamental port gear. Ready for Inspection photos are posted.

Thanks so much for checking in and following Old Crow as she moved down the line and out onto the flight line.

Thanks again

Peter
