David Hansen
+1 for the Tamiya Corsair. Not a fast build, but definitely an enjoyable and rewarding one. -d- Mark M, Uncarina and mpk

Mark M
it seem that people may like a corsair, tbh thats a bit more cash than i was planning on, however ive got a couple of over time shifts booked, so ill see how it goes mpk
mpk
I've not built it, but I have one. A Trumpeter Wildcat? They go pretty cheaply on ebay. Montex have some great schemes for them as well. You can't beat a Guadalcanal Wildcat. Mark M, Big Texan and Out2gtcha
Madelf75
Tamiya Corsair great kit you get what you pay for, love this kit mpk
BarryWilliams
I too would suggest the Tamiya 1/32 Corsair, allegedly the best kit ever produced though Tammy's 1/32 Mossie may challenge that... Other good and worthwhile USN kits are produced by Trumpeter The Avenger and Dauntless are excellent, others less so. Phantom2
Tamiya´s Corsairs, but as you said, they are quite expensive, altough they are worth every penny! Other good kits are the Trumpeter Dauntless and Avenger, both really good kits, must have been done by the A-team (copies/inspired by Accurate Miniatures 1/48?)! Hubert Boillot
What has been said : Above the lot : Tamiya's Corsair Then the Trumpeter's Wildcat, Dauntless or Avenger (and don:t touch, even with a long pole, their Corsair or even Hellcat ) Hubert Edited July 19, 2017 by MostlyRacers Mark M, CANicoll and mpk
Mustang JBB
What has been said : Above the lot : Tamiya's Corsair Then the Trumpeter's Wildcat, Dauntless or Avenger (and don(t touch, even with a long pole, their Corsair or even Hellcat ) Hubert I agree on the same Trumpeter kits. If you hunt around, you could find them a little cheaper at a model show, or on the web. Mark M and mpk
DeanKB
Trump Wildcat - maybe an early one, with bright yellow wings. Reasonably priced if you look. Maybe grab an Eduard cockpit PE set. The Avenger is a superb kit - a big old aeroplane with tons of plastic - but not cheap. Same with the Tamiya Corsair.

ssculptor
It seems to me that you left out a few words. For example, are you a builder who demands that the kit itself be perfect, without need of aftermarket goodies to buy? Or are you the builder who does not mind a few kit flaws as you can fix those yourself. Keep in mind that all the replies you read here reflect the needs and skills of the writers themselves. Your skills and needs may be quite different. Personally I prefer the Avenger. A good heavy bomber is always preferable to a fighter.
