She looks really sweet with these colors. And some people wonder what's not to love in yellow wings ?

Hubert

PS: Tamiya TS-12 works well in an airbrush afetr decanting

Now that is just gorgeous!

so decals done, quite straightforward

however, "US NAVY" sign looks little bit undersized compared to picture. I wanted to depict the overlap of both signs so will live with it, but if you want to be really presize you should watch for it

I put a wing decals directly on the yellow color, so white stars are not white anymore, so will mask it and correct white

well, the biggest challenge with this kit is canopy IMHO. Quite prominent, luckily you have two attempts.

Attached stickerf for canopy frames is not way to go for me. So im trying to mask it and paint it. First try here. Tonight I will do the second one and then I will take the best of it

well, small progress with SBU

I have managed to cut canopy in separate parts and paint it. However I`m not satisfied with results, still need to practise more with vacu stuff

IMG_1614_zpslcrzst6c.jpg

I have applied subtle panel lines wash (dark red, dark green and dark grey based on the surface color)

And finaly coats of GSI semigloss clear for metalic surface and mixture of semigloss and flat clear (1/1) for fabric surface

not visible on the photos below, I will try to do better shots in daylight

Now I still have to polish the entire surface with a rotary cotton pad and finish fading and apply subtle filters

thanks for looking

still need to finish some small things like antenna, some paint repairs and so.

Jan,

I just read through your entire build, and you sir are a craftsman in every sense of the word.  The homemade aluminum tube frame coupled with the repaint just added to the overall effect. The added detailing of an already nicely detailed cockpit really kicked it up a few notches.  Your painting, decaling, and finishing is as perfect as one could possibly expect on a Golden Era aircraft.
