Very cool!  I love the look of heavy chipping and blue and yellow together.   Is OV-10A a designation for the  Catalina too?  I always thought it was strictly a PBY and the OV-10A was for the Bronco.

Thank you my friends :)

Brian I also like this combination of navy colors and heavy weathering :) and yes there is a type-write mistake by my self - it's OA-10A and I've just fix it :)

Thank you once again Brian :)

Ha ha ha :) thanks friends.

Continue with assembling the main wing. Well as you can see it's not a 32 scale, but still it's a big piece of plastic.

And opened space for left engine - it will be uncovered and we will see the great resin R-1830 PW engine :)

So far so good.  Didn't WWII Naval aircraft have folded wings?

Sincerely,

Mark

Hi Mark, maybe have, maybe didn't :)  I don't know for fly-boats.

Here our Catalina is USAF version for rescue operations from post-war period 1948 :)

Cheers my friend.

Flying boats did not have folding wings, I was making a joke.

Cheers!

Sincerely,

Mark

Great looking subject. I've never seen the USAF markings so that'll make a nice change.

If you're interested, Belcher Bits make a corrected tail section for the kit.

Looking forward to it Chavdar!

The questions I have are:

  1. How do you intend to do the special yellow rescue markings, especially that big number underneith?
  2. Are you going to do the amount of frozen condensation (frost) on the fuselage as shown in the photo?

Seeing how clear the waist blisters are, it is obvious they really polished the glass on that bird!

Lessee, how does the routine go, "Check the tires and oil, and clean the windshield"...?
