Catching that elusive Have Glass 5th generation paint scheme

Hi, it's been a while since my last post here. I had to do a lot of research and mixing paints to achieve this result.

My first try was way too dark and I had to mix another batch of paint. I used RLM 66 and RLM 75 plus Alclad alu about 1/3 of each and sprayed on an Alclad alu base.

If you look closely at the model, you see a bit of a metalic sheen in the paint. Pictures don't do justice to the paint effect.

So I think I got it real close but that paint, depending on lighting conditions, can turn out really dark or light. Lets not forget that when we build a model, it's a snap shot in the life of a real aircraft!

Hope that you will enjoy and please give me some feedback!

I just realised that it's my 300th post! :m0152:

Andre,

Rock solid build for sure. Love the paint scheme, as you really nailed it.  Great job on the ordinance with all the markings and stencils.

And congratulations on your 300th post. They really add up fast here.

Looks real good, awesome job on your viper build.

I know the feeling on trying to get that paint scheme right, I found a good formula that worked great for me in my build as well, here is my hg5 viper, i need to take better pics, pics don't do it justice inside

Thanks Jeff, you  where kind of an inspiration for my build, a few months ago I started a post looking for infos and you told me about your build. So after watching the pics, I saw that it was possible so I went for it!

So this is the result! And I am quite happy about it!

Thanks Jan, do some test before, you may want to add a bit of white in there.
