Hi,

I am experimenting with Mr Color SM01. Never used it before. I will do some trials before I commit.

Well, I am really happy with the quality of SM01. It gives a nice finish and is tough as nails. It is not affected by Future, as far as I am concerned.

Some quick shots grabbed with my iPhone.

I still have a lot to learn about surface prep, but I am actually happy with the look. Next up, some yellow paint and then decals.

Cheers

Don

That looks about right, not too shiny and not too uniform

Cheers

What a beautiful beast, you can almost hear the growl of the Merlin, or I guess Griffon! Great shots Don, love it.

Thanks Max,

It's a Merlin. I think the black paint line over the rocker covers makes them look bigger and more Griffonesque in the shots.

LOL, thanks for the reminder!

I just know that the completion of this build will be stalled because I have not finished Edgar A's head.

Thanks Dennis,

More by luck than judgement, but I really like the effect.

Good day to you all.

I am sad to report that I will not be able to complete this GB. I have had some rather bad news that is taking my time away from modelling.

It's not fatal or anything like that but it does require my full attention.

I hope to return in a few months, so until then, I will continue to observe and comment but no sticky plasticky painty stuff for me for a while.

Perhaps a moderator can move this build over to the main forum at the end of the GB.

Appreciate it, cheers, Don

Sorry to hear of your setback, Don. I hope it's not as serious as it sounds, and hope to see you around all the same. I'll move the build at the end of the GB, though I may need a reminder!
