1/32 BF 109 G6/FW-190 D9 Resin Cockpit/Engine Recommendations

I have never used a resin upgrade engine or cockpit set for any Luftwaffe stuff in 1/32 scale.

Can anyone tell me which are the ones to get or which are the ones to avoid?

I am curious to hear general recommendations but specifically I am thinking of either a BF-109 G6 build or maybe a FW-190D9 build.

I'd be interested in engine and cockpit for either plane.

My primary concern is FIT and not perfect accuracy or detail.  I have no patience for aftermarket stuff that doesn't want to fit into the kit it was made for!

Thanks!

Jim

I used the Aries G-6 cockpit with the Revell kit. Wonderful detail but I had horrible fit issues. Never again....

Interesting; I was looking at the Aires kit and thought it looked good, but you never know about fit.  I don't know how these producers make kits for this type of specific use and then the thing doesn't fit.

Eagle Editions (parts) has nice stuff : http://www.eagle-editions.com/eagleparts-fine-cast-resin-parts-to-update-or-modify-model-kits?cat=27

Problem is the stuff you're looking for is currently out of stock .

I have their K cockpit. It's quite nice but I haven't tried to stick

it yet.

The K cockpit fits very well.

OK, so many have said Aires kits don't fit and they won't buy them again.

It figures that I have homed in on an Aires kit!

This is #2019, the engine for the Hasegawa 1/32 FW-190 D9.

Does anyone have any experience with this specific kit?  I am *this close* to ordering it and hoping for the best.

Any comments appreciated, like, "Dear God man!  Don't do it!"

The Trumpeter 109 comes with a decent starting point engine in 1/32.

Having the cowls open hides the lower cowl under curved shoukder issue which makes the nose look to pointy.

I am going that route for open engine bay 109's the Trimpeter kits are excellent starting points for that.

Not so much for closed cowl unless someone releases a new lower front cowl.

Opened up and a little bit of work they are to me the easiest route to a great looking 32nd 109 with cowls opened.
