Allok
Here is a quick and easy method I use for making plastic tyres look weighted. Stand the iron next to where you are working and turn the dial to the “cotton” setting. (I.e. Hot) Hold the wheel very close to the to top of the iron but do not touch the wheel against the hot plate! Wait until the plastic softens a little, then press the softened part against a hard, flat surface. The photo shows me using a glass coaster but any heat resistant surface will do. The aim is to make the flat spot about 20% of the overall tire profile. This method is quick, easy and effective. No sanding or filing is required and the risk of burning yourself is reduced dramatically. You will still need to be careful!
ScottS.
Nice tip, I always touched the iron and ended up with junk.
