BiggTim
Hi Tim, The cockpits are Hasegawa plastic with Yahu instrument panels, HGW seatbelts, thinned down kit seats. Painted with Gunze RLM66 and detailed with MMP paints. I hope you like them. Regards, Bruce Crosby I do like them! They look very good! I was just trying to decide what to use on mine. Bruce_Crosby
Hi Guys, Progress at last! I got my backside in gear today and started painting. Lots of masking and messing about with bits of foam, but look at the pictures and I can give up typing! Kahunaminor
Bruce, Certainly a tour de force in progress. Great workmanship, great choice of AM and very informative. Simultaneous multiple builds is a true test of patience. Well done and thanks. Regards,
Bruce_Crosby
Hi Guys, I had a fun time trying to get a decent Grunblau colour on the Big Tail D-9. First Attempt was Tamiya XF-21 Sky but I wasn't too happy with it. Have a look: Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr Then I tried a home made mix of MMP RLM76, White, Basic Green and Basic Blue. Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr But it was too blue. So I used MMP Transparent Medium with drops of Basic Green to make a glaze and misted it on over the blue: Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr And that's what I'm going with. Luftwaffe colours are wide open to interpretation. Nobody agrees as to the colour names or shades, so I'm doing the best I can in the circumstances! Bruce_Crosby
Hi Guys, Having trouble posting this tonight, every so often I lose the text! Anyway, an update on the Focke Factory after a busy week doing model related things but not these Fockes! Today was a full on painting day so I jumped in at the deep end with the D-13 Yellow 10. Not the world's easiest to paint as every refence work has different colours. A start with the spine in grey Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr and the lower leading edge Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr Some green Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr Back end Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr Sharp end Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr All of it Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr Stripes Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr Stripes AND cammo! Bruce_Crosby
Hi Guys, Here's today's starting point, the D-9 with the broad chord tail unit. I hope to have it knocked into shape by about lunch time. Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr Onwards and Upwards! Bruce_Crosby
Hi Guys, A very busy day today, cammo on two aircraft. Big tail D-9 was first. Bruce_Crosby
Hi Guys, the second to get the treatment today is a straight D-9 that's going to be White 15. Now Jerry Crandall's interpretation and JaPo's differ somewhat. Yellow nose or not, choice of colours, etc. So here's mine so far! I suppose the masking tape is a clue as to which way I went. Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr Untitled by Bruce Crosby, on Flickr So that's three out of four models in basic cammo. Tomorrow I'll be sorting the fourth one, then it's on to the bare metal under the wings, some gloss prior to decals, etc. Regards, Bruce Crosby Piprm, mywifehatesmodels, Zero77 and 9 others
